The Committee on Pensions and Retirement moved to amend the bill on page 4, section 13, line 4, following the word “system” by striking the remainder of the sentence and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“Provided, That for a person who first becomes a member of the Teachers Retirement System as provided in article seven-a, chapter eighteen of this code on or after July 1, 2015, accrued annual and sick leave of an employee participating in the plan may not be applied for retirement service credit : Provided, That notwithstanding the provisions of §18-7A-28e of this code to the contrary, for a person who first becomes a member of the Teachers Retirement System as provided in §18-7A-1 et seq. of this code on or after July 1, 2015, accrued annual and sick leave of an employee participating in the plan may not be applied for retirement service credit on the same basis as those members who were first members prior to July 1, 2015.”.
